The economic fabric of Namur is essentially characterized by a significant number of SMEs and self-employed workers.

The service sector is the most represented (75%), even if the branch of industry is very active in fields as food-processing industry, carries and building materials, mechanics and metallic constructions, chemistry and glasswork, computer science and ITCs, and wood.

Moreover, the Province of Namur counts 28 industrial parks for small businesses, industrial parks or mixed parks, a science park, a business park and a river port. It is the headquarter of the development of numerous young companies.
